Tools to Have During Braces Treatment

By January 3, 2022April 8th, 2022No Comments

While having metal braces may not be the best thing in the world, you should know that it will be worth it in the end. Even just a small amount of time with brackets and wires on can send you down the path of achieving your dream smile. For the time being, it is essential that you carry a kit with you that contains all of the essentials for your braces.

Keep reading to find out how you can be prepared for any surprises with these tools.

Toothbrush

One of the best and most important tools to carry with you is a toothbrush. You can keep a travel-sized one in your backpack, car, or even your handbag. After you finish your meal, you will benefit from being able to have a quick brush.

This is because food can easily get stuck in your teeth when you have braces. This then causes things such as cavities or other oral health issues. By carrying a brush with you, you can always enjoy a beautiful and fresh smile.

Dental Floss

Even if you are a very good brusher, there are bound to be areas that your toothbrush bristles just cannot reach. That is where dental floss comes in to save the day. You should always keep a container of dental floss with you to ensure that you can remove debris and plaque between your teeth.

Interproximal Brush

If you have braces, an interproximal brush can make all the difference. These wonderful tools are often forgotten about. However, they can easily help to dislodge anything that has gotten stuck in your braces.

They are also very easy to carry around with you.

Mirror

Sometimes, it isn’t easy to find a restroom when you need one. This can make it very difficult to find foods stuck in your braces after a meal. By carrying a compact mirror with you, you can easily take a look to see if anything is stuck.

Then, you can use your brush or floss to clean it out.

Toothpaste

A brush on its own can definitely be helpful. However, you will get a lot more out of your brushing if you carry a small tube of toothpaste with you to use alongside your brush.

Orthodontic Wax

At one point or another during your brace’s treatment, you will likely experience some irritation caused by your braces rubbing on your cheek or lip. Orthodontic wax can be super helpful when you’re between appointments and can’t get in to see your orthodontist.

When you have a small dental kit to carry with you on the go, your treatment will be a breeze. Get in touch with I Song Orthodontics today to get started with your treatment.
