At I Song Orthodontics we realize the extreme importance of setting your children up for success, especially when it comes to their dental health. What we believe in is instilling strong values and encouraging good oral health habits at an early age in our young patients.

Types of Braces

We offer a variety of styles to fit any lifestyle and budget, including:

Metal Braces

Metal braces are the most common type, made from high-grade stainless steel. Today’s metal braces are much smaller and more manageable than the braces of yesteryear. These are far more comfortable and less abrasive.

Clear Braces

Clear braces are far more discreet than metal braces. These are made from clear, translucent material. Adults tend to opt for clear braces due to the cosmetic appeal. One of the only down sides to clear braces is that they are more fragile than metal braces. The elastic ties can also experience discoloration between your visits, so it’s important to stay on top of brushing and flossing.

Self-Ligating Braces

These braces have a number of advantages over metal and clear braces. Patients experience faster treatment times due to their strong, mechanical base bonding, slide mechanism and solid walls designed to control tooth movement with precision and efficacy. They are also easier to manage and to keep clean.

Invisalign

Invisalign is a series of translucent overlay templates (which are called aligners). These are generated by a computer simulation to gradually move your teeth to your desired straightness. I Song Orthodontics offers this treatment to teen patients if they are a candidate. Invisalign is beneficial in dealing with certain types of orthodontic bite issues and misaligned teeth.
